Delete Your Account
This page explains how to delete your HiddenScan account, operated by Apparent Group Limited, and what happens to your data when you do. You can delete your account yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you.
1. Delete your account in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open HiddenScan and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Select Delete Account.
- Choose a reason, then confirm with your password (or by re-signing in with Google if that is how you registered).
Once you confirm, the deletion runs straight away and you are signed out.
2. Ask us to delete it for you
If you cannot access the app or would rather we handle it, email hello@apparentgroup.co from the address registered to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. You can also use our contact form.
We verify that the request comes from the account owner before acting on it. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to complete verified deletions within 30 days.
3. What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your profile details, including your display name and profile photo.
- Your full scan history — every saved Camera, IR and Wi-Fi scan record.
- The images stored with those scans.
This cannot be undone. Deleted scans and images cannot be recovered, so export or note anything you want to keep before you start.
4. What we keep, and why
- Subscription and purchase records are held by Apple and Google, not by us. Deleting your HiddenScan account does not cancel a subscription — see section 5.
- Records we are legally required to retain, such as transaction and tax records, are kept for as long as the law requires.
- Support correspondence may be retained where we need it to handle disputes or meet legal obligations.
Anything retained is limited to what is necessary, and is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed.
5. Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription, because subscriptions are managed by the app store rather than by us. Cancel before deleting your account:
- Google Play — Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → HiddenScan → Cancel.
- Apple App Store — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → HiddenScan → Cancel Subscription.
