Terms of Service
Welcome to HiddenScan. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the HiddenScan mobile application, website and related services (the “Service”) operated by Apparent Group Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing or using HiddenScan, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK) to use HiddenScan. By using the Service, you confirm you meet the age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Your account
Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. The Service
HiddenScan provides three on-device scanners — Camera, Infrared (IR) and Wi-Fi — to help you check a space for hidden surveillance devices.
HiddenScan is a detection assistant, not a guarantee. No technology can promise 100% detection of every hidden device. You should never rely on HiddenScan as your only safeguard. If you suspect illegal surveillance, contact local authorities.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use HiddenScan to harass, surveil or violate the rights of others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the app.
- Bypass, disable or interfere with security or rate-limiting features.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
5. Subscriptions and billing
HiddenScan offers paid Premium subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing, billing intervals and applicable taxes are shown at the point of purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can cancel anytime via your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
- Refunds are handled by the relevant store under their policies.
6. Intellectual property
HiddenScan, including its design, logos, copy and code, is owned by Apparent Group Limited and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
7. Third-party services
HiddenScan may rely on third-party services (e.g. Apple App Store, Google Play, analytics providers). We are not responsible for the practices or terms of those third parties.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that all hidden devices will be detected.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apparent Group Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Apparent Group Limited and our affiliates, officers and employees from any claims, damages or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any lawful reason. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand, except where local consumer law gives you a different right.
